‘I’m ready’: 27-year-old says he’ll play ‘one more game’ for his current club, then he’ll join Arsenal:- could be perfect replacement for Leno

Leno is all but certain to leave this summer and Arsenal already have a backup in Turner – but the move hasn’t been made official just yet. New England Revolution have confirmed that they have a deal in place with Arsenal, but the Gunners have remained quiet about the transfer.

Now, Turner, 27, has revealed when he’s set to leave America and fly over to North London to complete his move.

Matt Turner: I will play one more game for NER and then join Arsenal

Speaking to the official MLS website, Turner said when asked about his imminent transfer to Arsenal: “I still have a little business to take care of over in Foxborough, one more game.

“I’m hoping that it’ll be a nice little send-off and I can say bye to the fans and people that are so close to my heart, that really welcomed me to the area. It’s pretty emotional, though, overall, with everything because it’s where I first became a professional.

“It’s where I became a man. It’s where I fell in love. It’s where I got married. It’s where I found out I was having my first child. So a lot of firsts in that area. And it’s going to be tough to leave behind, for sure.

“But I think I’m ready. I know who I am. And I know I’m ready for a new challenge.”

When could Turner leave New England Revolution?

Turner has claimed that he will play just one more game for the Revs before leaving America for his new challenge at Arsenal.

New England don’t play again for a couple of weeks, but on the 13th of June, they travel to the Children’s Mercy Park to take on Sporting Kansas City.

Just three days later, The Revs will play at home at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, the place where Turner says he has ‘a little business to take care of’.

Going by his own words, we expect the American to bid farewell to his side on the 16th of June and then fly over to Arsenal to complete his move.
