Inter Milan could demand a transfer fee of £20m for left-back Federico Dimarco with Arsenal interested. The Spanish manager is reportedly seeking a new full-back to cover for the injury-prone Kieran Tierney next campaign. The Gunners are planning an elaborate transfer window, with Mikel Arteta keen on bolstering many positions.
One of them is the left-back area, as Mikel Arteta is keen to find quality cover for Tierney after the Scottish defender missed his second consecutive end-of-season run. Kieran has missed many crucial matches at length in each of the three campaigns he has played for the Gunners.
Those problems are unlikely to be solved just yet, as the Scottish left-back could carry a similar risk in the new season. Despite that, the defender is one of the first names in Mikel Arteta’s teamsheet, as he is a quality operator on the flank.
His qualities have attracted the interest of some big teams from England and Spain. Kieran Tierney only signed a new contract at the start of last campaign and is prepared to snub interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona to stay put at Arsenal.
Federico Dimarco only started 19 matches in 2021/22 and largely came off the bench when Inter Milan needed another defender on the pitch. Simone Inzaghi trusts the footballer, and with Perisic departing, a spot for a regular berth could open up for the Italian defender. However, he will still have to compete with Gosens for a starting role, casting doubts over his future.
