Arsenal transfer news LIVE: ‘Agreement reached’, Edu drops Paqueta hint, Tielemans decision made

Mikel Arteta’s side are looking good following the arrival of their five summer signings – Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus, Matt Turner, Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira – but the Spanish manager knows there’s still time to improve his team before September.

Youri Tielemans is next on his shopping list with a cut-price deal for the Leicester star potentially on offer. Arteta also wants to get players out of the door – such as Bernd Leno and Hector Bellerin – over the next few weeks.

It promises to be an interesting end to Arsenal’s transfer window. Make sure you stay tuned to find out what happens!

Osimhen

Former Arsenal target Victor Osimhen has confirmed his commitment to Napoli by saying that any talk over an exit are just “rumours”.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, he said: “I’m in Napoli. And I have great respect for my club. They are just rumours of the market. I’m fine here and I’ve never had such close relationships with everyone as at this moment.

“I spoke to the president, he is the one who decides, and he reassured me by explaining the club’s plans. I am happy with what he told me and the purchases are of quality: words were followed by deeds. I am very happy to play with Napoli and we will see in the future.”

Arsenal find Arthur ‘agreement’

Arsenal and Juventus have reportedly reached an “agreement” over a loan move for Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo.

The Gunners chased the 25-year-old in January and talks are thought to have reopened between the two clubs. According to reports in Italy via the Express, the Gunners have agreed terms over a 12-month loan deal with an obligation to buy the midfielder next summer.

Saka backed for exit

Former Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has claimed that Bukayo saka could look to quit Arsenal for Liverpool or Man City should the Gunners fail to return to the Champions League next season.

Speaking with Football Insider, he said: “If Arsenal didn’t get into the Champions League this season I wouldn’t be surprised if he is looking for a move.

“He would be looking for a move to a regular Champions League team like Liverpool or Man City, even Chelsea.

“It would have to be someone who is more or less guaranteed Champions League football. It is a tough one because he still has years left on his deal and whoever comes in will have to pay top dollar.”

Nicolas Pepe drops hint over Arsenal future

Arsenal record signing Nicolas Pepe has hinted that he will stay at Arsenal despite interest from elsewhere. The winger has been linked with moves to Sevilla and Newcastle but a recent social media post suggests he’s not planning on going anywhere.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “I worked hard during the summer. Changed a lot of things. “I’m focused and determined with Arsenal and my team-mates.”

Edu on Paqueta

Arsenal transfer chief Edu has shot down any hope that the Gunners will make a move for Lyon star Lucas Paqueta.

“I’m very respectful when I talk about Lucas. I’m a guy who likes him a lot, I’ve always liked him, since my time with Brazil’s national team,” Edu told TNT Sports Brazil.

“He’s had a great season, he was considered the best [overseas] player in the French league. But today, there really isn’t any kind of talk, there’s only my admiration for the player, because the squad today is, in the position he plays, I think we’re very well served in this regard.”

Arthur drops hint

Arthur Melo is still a Juventus player but the Arsenal transfer target has been praising a potential future teammate, Gabriel Jesus.

The 25-year-old lauded his fellow Brazilian after Jesus scored in the Gunners’ 4-0 thrashing of London rivals Chelsea to extend their winning run in pre-season to four victories.

Arsenal’s new No.9, who recently became part of Mikel Arteta’ s team after completing a stunning £45million transfer from Manchester City, bagged the Gunners’ opening goal in Florida after just 15 minutes, as Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga also got the scoresheet to humiliate Thomas Tuchel ‘s side.

Jesus’ effort was a lovely dink over Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and Arthur was impressed by his compatriot’s performance, as Jesus netted his fourth goal in pre-season. As the ex-City striker posted an image of himself celebrating on Instagram, the Juventus midfielder replied with an applause emoji to show his support.
