Arsenal ‘Agree’ Deal For In-demand Forward And Attempt ‘Hijack’ Of Centre-back

Mikel Arteta and Edu will already be hard at work preparing for next season.The Gunners came up just short in their bid to return to the Champions League, but they have secured Europa League football.

Arsenal will be looking to go one better next season, while also putting in a solid challenge in UEFA’s secondary competition.

And new signings will be needed this summer, with Arteta keen to strengthen certain areas, while also needing to replace the likes of Alxandre Lacazette.

Deal done

Arsenal are said to have agreed a deal to sign Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports a £3million has been agreed after weeks of negotiations, and the 19-year-old is now north-London bound.

Botman bid

Arsenal are being backed to make a late attempt to sign Lille star Sven Botman this summer.

Botman is said to be close to a move to AC Milan after rejecting an offer from Newcastle United, but the Gunners are said to have made a late move.

La Repubblica say Arsenal have made a late attempt to hijack Milan’s deal, with Arteta hoping to further improve his back-line.

Xhaka interest

Jose Mourinho has long been an admirer of Gunners midfielder Granit Xhaka, and he could circle back in a bid to secure a deal this summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho is weighing up another move for the midfielder, having tried to sign him last summer.

The Swiss international featured regularly at Arsenal this season, but it’s reported he could be made available should the Gunners be successful in their reported bid to land Youri Tielemans this summer.

Xhaka made 27 Premier League appearances this season, and he seems to have a fan in Mourinho.
