Unai Emery’s 12 Arsenal signings and where they are now says a lot about Mikel Arteta
Unai Emery brought 12 players to Arsenal during his three transfer windows at the helm, but more than half of them have already been moved on by his successor Mikel Arteta
Less than three years have passed since Unai Emery was relieved of his duties as Arsenal manager, and Mikel Arteta has wasted little time offloading the players who arrived in North London under his compatriot.
Arteta has brought in plenty of his own players since taking the reins in December 2019. Starting centre-backs Gabriel and Benjamin White were recruited by the former Manchester City coach, for example, as was goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Naturally, new signings need to be accommodated with sales and terminations. With a few notable exceptions, such as Willian and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a large number of those offloaded were signed by Emery.
Even more of the Spaniard’s 12 signings could find themselves on the move this summer, too, showing the extent of the overhaul. Here, Mirror Football takes a closer look at the dozen to see what they’re up to now.
