Arsenal legend favourite to become Swindon Town manager

According to reports, Sol Campbell is leading the pack when it comes to landing the Swindon Town managerial post which will become vacant this summer when Ben Garner leaves to take up the role of Charlton Athletic manager after just one year at Swindon.

Campbell has been without a job since leaving the Southend United job in the summer of 2020 after being relegated following financial problems which meant he was not able to sign any players.

That followed a spell with Macclesfield where he managed to keep them in the division against the odds.

To be fair to Campbell, financial problems have been common during most of his managerial jobs.

Those have been few and far between with Campbell speaking about the racism he believes plays a role in restricting the job offers he obtains.

He has a very good point when you consider the pathetically low number of non-Caucasian managers there are throughout every division in England.

Paul Tisdale, who has significantly more experience, is said to be second favourite.

Campbell is clearly in the market for a new position.Just last week he was set to be interviewed for the QPR job.
