‘Very angry’: Manager is reportedly furious that his talented player is on the verge of joining Arsenal

Sao Paulo boss Rogerio Ceni is furious that Marquinhos has been allowed to leave his club and join Arsenal.

Edu Gaspar’s presence as Arsenal’s technical director has opened the Brazilian market to the Gunners. Gabriel Martinelli has been their finest signing, but they could soon bring in another exciting young winger from the land of the Little Canary.

Fabrizio Romano revealed last week that a deal has been agreed between Arsenal and Sao Paulo for Marquinhos. The teenager is expected to complete his move soon, and the announcement is said to be imminent.

Arsenal fans sure are excited to see what Marquinhos is all about, but Ceni is far from happy about his side’s decision to let the talented winger move to North London.

Sao Paulo manager ‘very angry’ that Marquinhos is joining Arsenal

According to Brazilian media outlet Bola VIP, Marquinhos, still only 19, was very much a part of Ceni’s plans. He wanted the youngster to be handed a new deal, but his side went ahead and sold him to Arsenal instead.

That has apparently ‘irritated’ the Sao Paulo boss.

Ceni is now reportedly ‘very angry’ with his club – firstly, for selling Marquinhos, and secondly, for letting Arsenal snap him up for a fee that’s well below his actual transfer value.

The Sao Paulo manager is so annoyed now that he has decided he will never again use a young player whose contract is short and is at the risk of being lured away by a European club.

The young Brazilian is in London

Goal reported last week that Arsenal have agreed a deal with Sao Paulo to sign Marquinhos this summer.

The Gunners will pay a fee in the region of £3 million to complete the deal, and the young Brazilian has already been to Arsenal’s training centre to complete his medical.

Marquinhos is reportedly viewed by Arsenal as ‘one for the future.’ However, he will be given an opportunity in pre-season, and if he impresses, Mikel Arteta will take him along with his squad on their tour to America this summer.

Arsenal haven’t yet announced the signing of Marquinhos, but if the reports are to be believed, it’s only a matter of time now.
